“I Will Arise”

I WILL arise. So far my feet have gone astray, So thick do cares beset my way, I should be bowed with grief today Had I not still the power to say, I will arise.
I will arise. My spirit cannot know despair, Nor life engulf me with its care; For God is with me everywhere, If I but breathe this simple prayer, I will arise.
I will arise, And, looking up, press onward still, Forever striving to fulfill God’s holy thought of me, until His perfect strength shall gird my will. I will arise.
