THE meeting last Sabbath in this city was of more than usual interest. A number were over from San Francisco. Sister White gave a very searching discourse from John 7:37. In the social meeting which followed the words were sung:— “ E’er since by faith I saw the stream
Those bleeding wounds supply,
Redeeming love has been my theme,
And shall be, till I die.” Never can be forgotten by those who were present the impressiveness of the occasion as Sister White arose, and, with tears in her eyes, repeated the question: “Has it? has it? has it?” following with earnest words of exhortation. We presume many felt and realized, as they never did before, the sad fact that other and meaner themes had largely crowded out that wonderful and glorious theme of redeeming love. Oh, how faithful should we be, who know that redeeming love will soon accomplish its last crowning work, “the redemption of our body,” by translating us into the kingdom “when Jesus comes.”
