Nobody Knows But Jesus
By C. E. GREY
Nobody knows all the burdens we bear,
Nobody knows but Jesus.
Nobody knows all our trials and care,
Nobody knows but Jesus.
Nobody knows all the struggles of life,
All of its conflicts, all of its strife,
All of its sorrows that pierce like a knife,
Nobody knows but Jesus. Jesus, who came from his home in the sky—
Jesus, the loving Jesus—
For sinful creatures to bleed and to die,
Jesus, the loving Jesus;
He who in anguish of soul wept alone,
Bleeding and dying for sin to atone,
While in the garden the pale moonbeams shone,
Is still our loving Jesus. Jesus, who fell ’neath the cruel cross,
Jesus, the sinless Jesus,
Infinite price paid for man's worthless dross,
Jesus, the sinless Jesus;
He who for sin gave his life on the tree
That he might save such a sinner as me,
And from death's band every captive set free,
This is the sinless Jesus.
