"Sabbath Readings."

THE world is full of books, but the really good ones are quite scarce. The great majority of books adapted to the comprehension of the young, contains more or less matter that, if not positively bad, tends more or less directly to an unhealthy state of mind, and makes wrong impressions that can never be overcome. It is one of the most difficult tasks that the parent has, to select for his child's reading such books as will please him, and stimulate his desire for reading, and leave no moral taint behind.
This task has been very much lightened by the compiler of "Sabbath Readings." The selections have been carefully made, and none need fear to place them in the hands of their children. They are not, however, designed exclusively for the young. They are for home reading, and all members of the family circle will be entertained and benefited by their perusal. The fourth volume, which is just now ready, sets forth especially the dangers and duties of parents. While the aim has been to furnish reading of a high moral grade, they are not sectarian, and are, therefore, adapted to the wants of everybody. Price per set of four volumes neatly put up in box, $2.50.
