The Opening of the Southern Training-School
By J. E. Tenney
ACCORDING to announcement, the Southern Training-school at Graysville, Tenn., opened on the twentieth of September. Owing to the prevalence of the yellow fever in Louisiana and other portions of the South, the attendance at the opening of the school was considerably smaller than usual; but it took only a short time to determine the fact that there was a degree of earnestness and spirituality in the school which had seldom if ever been experienced. We believe the faculty in charge of the school is capable, both by qualifications and experience, of making the year one of the best in the history of the school. During the past four years about twenty-five have completed the prescribed course of study, and nearly fifty have gone out in the same period of time to engage permanently in the Lord's work. We do not expect the present year to fall behind those that have preceded it in the quality of the work done or in the results.
