DR. BENSON'S BOOK.

A LETTER from Missouri says: "Assertions with some are as good as evidence, especially if they want it so. Dr. Benson's book was introduced in this neighborhood. I was glad to see the review. It seems to me this review should be in pamphlet form to meet Dr. B.'s book. The Methodists will be likely to circulate it wherever the Sabbath is preached. The papers which contain the review will soon be past and cannot be had, while a pamphlet can always be had in readiness to meet it."
We are averse to publishing pamphlets unless it is absolutely necessary. In this case we do not feel assured that it is necessary. Doctor Benson's pamphlet may be extensively circulated on the start, but the contents are not such as to give assurance that it will be relied upon by its own friends where the truth of the Sabbath is presented. Were it not that it is backed up by a large denomination it would scarcely deserve extended notice. However, we will revise the articles for a pamphlet if it shall be thought advisable hereafter.
We have another matter on hand for early consideration. An influential Baptist minister has been airing his learning over the Greek of Matt. 28:1. We invite our friends to give thorough circulation to our expositions of these matters; and we feel thankful that we have such an efficient means as the SIGNS OF THE TIMES in which we may "contend earnestly for the faith," and expose popular errors.
