How It Is Being Received

SINCE the first edition of the special Signs number of the Southern Watchman was mailed, orders have been coming in so rapidly that in order to keep up with them and those for the Family Bible Teacher, it has been necessary to run our presses both night and day.
Those who were waiting to see a copy before ordering are now sending in their orders, many of which are for a large number, while others who have already ordered, are sending for more, and these orders are invariably accompanied with the statement, “This special number sells the best of anything I have yet tried.”
We are receiving many words of commendation, both as to its selling qualities and the matter it contains. The following letter from Elder L. G. Moore, of Ann Arbor, Mich., containing a post-office order for three dollars, is a sample of what people are writing about this number:—
“The special number came to-day, and to say that I am pleased with it is to speak of it mildly. Please send me one hundred copies. May the blessing of the Lord rest upon the brethren that were responsible for its make-up.”
Brother A. F. Harrison, general canvassing agent for the Southern Union Conference, has ordered one thousand copies to sell himself, and writes of his first two days’ work as follows:—
“Monday morning I took the train and came to—. I arrived here at half-past eight, but it was nearly nine o’clock when I began work. That day I sold six more papers than I was able to sell in my best day’s work with the Special number of the Signs. Yesterday I did even better. This Watchman is a fine one. . . . If our State agents everywhere would only take an interest in this matter, and drill the workers and churches, this paper could be sold by the ton.”
Many who have had no experience in this kind of work have no difficulty in selling twenty-five copies an hour. We have heard of several instances where people have bought copies after simply looking at the picture on the cover. Although great pains have been taken to make this number attractive in appearance, yet greater efforts have been made to make its contents most valuable. Already we are seeing good results, and we feel sure that by giving it a wide circulation much will be accomplished in the advancement of the third angel’s message.
In lots of twenty-five or more to one address, the price is but three cents a copy. Orders may be sent to your State Tract Society, or to the Southern Publishing Association, 1025-27 Jefferson St., Nashville, Tenn.

The Year Book Will Tell

AFTER asking your friends, or spending time in hunting up your old correspondence, if you fail to find an important item with reference to denominational proceedings, consult the Year Book; it will tell. It will furnish the best address. It will tell you where our sanitariums and treatment rooms are, with the officers in charge; also where to find a vegetarian restaurant. It will inform you with reference to proceedings of State, Union, and General Conferences, as well as refresh your memory as to what has been done in your own conference. It contains valuable information with reference to the population of conferences, number of churches, etc. In fact, the Year Book is indispensable. Order to-day. You need it.
