THE HEBREW "TAH-VAL."

WE last week published a second article from the Herald of Truth on this subject, by the same writer, Dr. Tombes, of Anaheim, Cal. We wrote a note calling attention to it, but it was mislaid, and the loss not discovered until too late.
Of this we can speak as we did of the first; it is conclusive as a statement of facts. If any are inclined to think that Dr. T. has passed a severe judgment on Dr. Young's motive in rendering tah-val "to moisten or be-sprinkle," we ask them to review the evidence given by Dr. Tombes, and then give their reason for Dr. Young's action in this case. Nothing perplexes us more sorely than to decide how to exercise charity, or to know how far to impute correct motives in such cases. It is a solemn thought that when God shall bring every secret thing into judgment, our motives will be examined, and our works, even in the cause of God, will be judged accordingly.
