ELIZABETH GILBERT

From Sr. Gilbert.

DEAR READERS OF THE REVIEW: I feel it a duty to write a few lines, hoping it will cheer some lonely one, for I love to read the testimonies of others. I feel determined to put forth more effort to overcome. My husband and myself are the only Sabbath-keepers in this place. We feel that the time is short, and we must be in earnest. Let us serve God with all our hearts, and walk carefully before him, watching unto prayer.
I love to keep the commandments, and I long to see Jesus. It is my daily prayer, that I may die to self, that I may be remembered with those that shall be saved; for we are made partakers of Christ, if we hold the beginning of our confidence stedfast unto the end.
I know I am abundantly blessed of the Lord, and I thank him for his goodness. I feel to praise God for his wonderful love, that he has ever opened my heart to obey his truth. I am determined to press my way through to the gates, and into the city.
