Benevolence to the Poor

SR. S. L. IRISH writes from Erie Co., N. Y.: On reading Bro. White’s sermon on the fact which the Lord requireth, a fact consisting in benevolence to the poor, I was forcibly impressed with the idea that this is the people of God; and at the same time my conscience convicted me, because I do not know of any good that I have done to the poor. Although we are poor ourselves, yet we ought to do something in this way.
