The Sabbath

ELIZA H. MORTON
The Sabbath — day of rest — My heart inspires With holy thoughts and high, Intense desires,—
Desires to know my God, My dearest Friend, The One who’ll e’er be true Until the end;
To know more fully here Eternal love. My heart cries out for thee, Jesus above.
The Sabbath, emblem sweet Of Christ to me; In him I stand complete; He’ll make me free,
Yea, free from sordid things That vex and pain; How small they seem compared With Jesus’ reign!
