The Cross, My Joy

By Charles M. Sheldon

O GIFT of God, I bring to thee Myself, for thou hast ransomed me, And day by day my song shall be, The cross, the cross, is all my joy!
I place my faith in thee alone; For in my darkness thou hast shown The path of life, before unknown: The cross, the cross, is all my joy!
O sacred hope of endless peace, Where sorrows shall forever cease! My soul from sin has found release! The cross, the cross, is all my joy!
And when the end shall come, I'll sing The song of my eternal King, And rise on life's exultant wing: The cross, the cross, is all my joy!
