Giving Our Best to the Lord

The best churches give largely to benevolent objects. They are so taught. Their pastors preach on the subject, teaching them both publicly and from house to house. They are made to understand that giving of one's substance to the Lord is a part of true religion. And so it is. The very first offering laid at the feet of the infant Jesus was gold. After that came the less important offerings of frankincense and myrrh. Those who truly love Jesus, love to give him their best things!
