Figures show a very satisfactory result as regards the growing thrift of the freedmen of the South. The sixth annual report recently published of the Freedman's Savings and Trust Co., shows that in 32 branches of the association the balance due depositors was $2,454,886.11. The total in 1866 was only $199,283.42.
