The Power of Meeting in Jesus’ Name

When Christians meet in the name of Jesus, he is in their midst; and where he is, there is blessing; counsel, instruction, and consolation. But when “two or three” backsliders, hypocrites, and dead heads, who have nothing, do nothing, feel nothing, and know nothing of the power and grace and work of Jesus Christ, meet together in the in the name of self or sect party, they are no better together than when apart—nay, they are not as well: one of them alone is bad enough—two are worse, and a hundred are worse yet.
