QUESTIONS FOR ILLINOIS.
By G. W. Colcord
1. Do all our church-members pay a tithe of their earnings to the cause of the Lord? 2. Do all our scattered and lonely friends prove that they love the cause of truth by paying the tithe for its support? 3. Do all the friends of truth in Illinois know that we are trying to pay for, and support, the sixth tent in our Conference, this season? 4. Can they not see, therefore, that every cent of the Lord’s tithe is wanted to give our laborers even a limited support? 5. Can they not see that all our tent-pledges should be redeemed, and as early as practicable? 6. Who of my brethren or sisters are so blinded as to think that they can withhold the Lord’s tithe, yet have his blessing to rest upon them and their earthly interests? 7. Come, friends, is not this a union effort? And should we not all have sufficient love for God to obey him? and enough love for our ministers to support them? G. W. Colcord.
