To the Brethren of Kansas.
By J. H. Cook
DEAR BRETHREN: You have before this noticed the fact that the Kansas and Missouri Conference has purchased a tent, that we might be furnished for our yearly gathering, also for tent labor in this new field. Now, brethren, the greater part of the amount yet due, $135, should evidently be paid by us in Kansas. But in order to do this, we must take hold of it promptly. Under the present circumstances, I would suggest that Bro. Brown, of Centerville, Jesse Tomlinson, of Eureka, and A. J. Stover, of LaBelle, be a committee to attend to this matter in their respective neighborhoods, to see that immediate action is taken in regard to it, and the amount forwarded to Bro. Rodgers. We expect the hearty co operation of our scattered brethren, and earnestly invite them as they love the Lord and the cause of the third angel to help us in this effort to advance the cause in this new field. Let none be afraid there will be too much raised, and so excuse themselves. If there should be a little surplus, let it go with the tent to meet its expenses, or to pay for delinquent subscription for our periodicals.
