Methodist Book Concern Dispute

The case of Dr. Lanahan and the Methodist book concern is dismissed for the present. The committee have censured him for accusing Dr. Carleton of mismanagement of the book concern, and have removed him from his office. Bishop Janes concurred, but Bishop Ames refused to concur in this decision. Mr. Carleton tendered his resignation, but the committee refused to accept it. The case now goes to the General Conference, and, so far as now appears, is likely to occupy the attention of the Methodist church for the remainder of the present century.—Det. Post.
