Our Publishing Work

*The Lord gave the word: great was the company of those that published it. Psalm 68:11.*
“COMING KING” shows how the events that are taking place about us in the world fulfil the Scripture predictions and indicate the near coming of Christ. Hundreds of thousands of copies have been sold, and many are the people whose attention has been called to the full message by this book. Plain cloth, $1.
WHEN the good wife is troubled to know what to get to eat, and how to make it delicious to the taste and yet healthful, provide her with a copy of “A Friend in the Kitchen,” Mrs. Colcord’s practical hygienic cook-book. It costs only 50 cents, post-paid, yet it ever proves to be indeed a friend to many a weary woman.
“GREAT CONTROVERSY” contains the story of the past, the present, and the future. Its outline of the closing scenes of this earth’s history will be a powerful witness in behalf of the truth. This great work contains the last message of warning to the world, and gives this message more distinctly than any other book published. Through the agency of this book, it will be possible for believers who can not preach or conduct Bible readings to give this important message, and to receive for their efforts a liberal remuneration. Write to the publishers for agents’ rates, canvasses, and other helps, prices, etc.
WHAT other denominational paper has attained to a circulation of 45,000 copies before it was a year old? Liberty has one more number before it is one year old, yet it has a circulation of 45,000 copies per issue, and the orders are still coming in. It is eminently a paper for the times, and is much appreciated by all who yet have a spark of the old-time liberty fire remaining in their natures. It seems to possess a force similar to that of Gideon’s army. The principles it advocates are due to the world, and heaven’s blessing accompanies it on its mission. The fourth number will be ready about January 28. Price only 25 cents a year. Two and one-half cents a copy in lots of 25 or more copies to one address.
THE weeds have very strange habits. Do you know where the wild violet sows its seed? and how it does it? Have you ever noticed the shape of the dandelion seeds? how they are carried far and wide? and how they increase themselves and bury themselves under the ground? Do you know a plant can grow in the hardest and barest places, even in the beaten roadway? Do you know how many seeds sometimes form from one flower? Have you ever stopped to think why the weeds are scattered year after year, and why man with all his efforts can not get rid of them? If these questions interest you, you will find answers to them in the book entitled, “My Garden Neighbors.” It is full of true stories and interesting descriptions of many of nature’s creatures. It has numerous illustrations, many of them in colors, and contains 256 pages. Price, $1. Order through this Office or through your tract society.
No teacher or officer of the Sabbath-school can afford to be deprived of the help found in the Sabbath School Worker. If our Sabbath-school officers will read the Worker for a time, they will be convinced that our statement is not too strong. The Worker contains practical suggestions from experienced Sabbath-school workers. Its notes on the lessons in each division which are given in every number are worth more than a year’s subscription—35 cents a year.
THERE is a prevailing sentiment which practically concedes that delusive error that a man can not be a true Christian and succeed financially in business. Against such an error the “Story of Daniel the Prophet” testifies. While it gives a clear interpretation of the prophecies recorded in the Bible, it enlarges upon the principles that governed Daniel’s life, and which made him a Christian, a successful business man, a ruler, and “a man greatly beloved.” Keep this book before the young. It will do them good. Price, $1, post-paid.
THE Signs leaflets should be scattered now as never before. The set is composed of sixteen different 2-page leaflets, embracing the following subjects: The Sure Word of Prophecy, Prophetic History of the World, Second Coming of Christ, The Signs of Our Times, The Sanctuary, The 2300 Days, The Law of God, The Sabbath of the Bible, The First Day in the Bible, Who Changed the Sabbath? The Great Threefold Message, The Seal of God and the Mark of the Beast, Church and State, Life and Immortality, The Great Judgment Day, The Home of the Saved, etc. You can get a pound (eighteen of each leaflet) for 50 cents, or 100 of any single leaflet for 15 cents. No less than 100 of any single tract will be sold.
“HERALDS OF THE MORNING” reveals the dawn of a desirable era to be ushered in by the coming of the Lord. The prophecies being fulfilled in the world to-day, and attracting the attention of the public, are interestingly considered in this work. The wonderful increase of knowledge and the marvelous development of the last century, the rising tide of crime and evil, the conflict between capital and labor, the increasing anger of the nations, the prevalence of the war spirit, the awful struggle to excel in the invention and manufacture of the most destructive weapons, the increase of storms and disasters of all kinds, are treated in connection with the prophecies which foretell the coming of these events. It is a work especially adapted to the needs of the people at this present time. Price, $1.50.
