The Publishing Fund.

In the SIGNS of April 13, is a report of a meeting of the Directors of the Pacific S. D. A. Publishing Association. In that report is a preamble and resolution passed by the Board of Directors as follows:—
Whereas, It is very desirable to free our Association from debt, and also to have a fund to invest in paper and books, and as many who have pledged to the publishing fund are behind on their subscriptions, therefore,
Resolved, That our brethren and sisters be urged to pay their pledges as soon as possible, and others be invited to take stock in the Association, in order that the above objects may be carried out.
There is still about five thousand dollars of the means that was pledged to this fund unpaid. Many of those, undoubtedly, who pledged this means and have not as yet paid their pledges, are designing to do so as soon as they can. The Association has a good lot and building nearly all paid for, and is now in special need of three or four thousand dollars to enable it to carry on its business free from embarrassment. Of course we did not contribute of our means to erect a publishing house to look at simply, but a house in which we could publish the truth. It will not answer to stop short of the object we are pursuing. Means should be raised to serve as a publishing fund.
We hope those who have still unpaid pledges to the publishing fund will make an effort to pay them as soon as possible. If there are any on this coast who have not taken stock in the Association, and can help in this enterprise, it will be most gladly received.
For the Directors.
J. N. LOUGHBOROUGH.
