Rejoicing.

REJOICING in hope of the glory to come, When Christ the Life-giver appears; We'll smile at the sorrows and burdens of life, And banish our doubts and our fears.
For the promise is sure to all who endure To the end of life's labor and care; That they shall be saved in the day of reward, And the life of the blessed shall share.
This hope is our anchor, and to it we'll cling, Though tempest and storm rage around; Our bark through the billows in safety 'twill bring, Till we shall with victory be crowned.
We rejoice that we to our Father may go, And ask for such things as we need; Assured that each blessing he'll freely bestow, Each feeble petition will heed.
We'll rejoice for the Comforter promised and sent, The water of life freely given, The words of rich grace recorded and sealed, And the bread which cometh from Heaven.
We rejoice and are glad that a way has been made For sinners to come unto God; That Jesus has died, and the law satisfied, By shedding his own precious blood.
We rejoice that he rose and ascended on high, To make intercession for men; That soon he is coming in glory and power, And on the new earth he shall reign.
And what though our names be as evil cast out, For the love that we bear to our Lord; We'll rejoice and be glad, for the promise is ours, And blessed shall be our reward.
Yes, glory to God, we'll rejoice evermore, And earnestly strive to prepare For the rest that remains for the people of God, That its blissful repose we may share.
