Seek God in Times of Trouble

Many people stay away from the sanctuary when they are troubled and afflicted. That is the time above all other to go and seek God. It makes matters no better to shun the place of God's worship. Brooding over trouble and nursing heart-pains will not make matters better, nor afford any relief. The cloud grows darker and the weight becomes heavier with the days of despondency and gloom. Go where God is praised and worshiped, where his promises are recounted and his blessings enjoyed. There you will hear a word to suit your case; there a light will shine upon your soul. Joy will take the place of sorrow. Heaviness will be turned to gladness. You will see things in their true light, and the blessings of the Lord will fall upon you.—Religious Telescope.
