Death of Sister Sarah Young

Through Dr. F. E. Braucht, we learn of the death in Samoa of Sister Sarah Young, a nurse, formerly of Pitcairn Island. Dr. Braucht says: “In the death of this sister, the work has sustained a great loss. She was loved by all who knew her, and was peculiarly adapted to the island work, as she knew how to ingratiate herself into the hearts of the native people. The cause of her death was pneumonia. She had labored in the island since 1894, with the exception of three years spent in Australia, while taking her nurses’ course.” Thus another of our island fields is marked by a missionary grave.
