Opposition to Sunday Legislation

There was printed in the Washington Post of Monday, March 19, a full and well-written abstract of an address on Sunday legislation delivered in South-east Washington the previous evening by Elder K. C. Russell, the chairman of the Religious Liberty Bureau. The closing paragraph of this report reads as follows:—
We desire the moral and spiritual reformation of society, and would, therefore, appeal to the conscience and to the throne of the Most High, and not to Congress; therefore we are uncompromisingly opposed to all efforts to ask Congress to re-enact the old Sunday blue-laws of colonial times in the District of Columbia.
