“Worn-out From Overwork”

When God lays a work on us, he will supply the means to work with and the strength needful for body and mind. But he requires that we keep our powers under control and consecrated to God. Some one eats a late supper, and goes to sleep on it, and wakes up in the morning weary and worn; he thinks he has overworked and is weary from labor, when it was the system laboring with the late and heavy supper. People professing holiness go on indulging appetite and passion; they are languid and dull, and think they are worn-out with work for God. If we will live simply and purely, God will come and touch our bodies as well as our souls; and we shall not break down with our work half done for God.—Vanguard.
