South Carolina Adopts Prohibition

SOUTH CAROLINA adopted state-wide prohibition by about 20,000 majority on the fourteenth of September, says the New Republic, a prohibition weekly. This makes nineteen states now under dry régime. On the same day, at the primaries in Maryland, both Republicans and Democrats chose anti-saloon candidates for the legislature, in all counties except Baltimore. This insures favorable action on prohibition at an early date in that state.
