In Nature's Temple

By Worthie Harris Holden
Deep in the heart of the pines, 'Tis the evening sun sets the wood aglow, When the tree-tops are murmuring soft and low, Swayed by the whispering winds.
Here Nature's temple uprears, And its sylvan pillars rise grand and high To the green-barred windows athwart the sky, Tabernacled by years.
Kneel in this solemn retreat Till the heart is filled with the golden glow Of the Spirit's presence each soul may know When for an altar we seek.
Deep in the heart of the pine, Or apart from the world with its strife and sin, Find a far-hidden nook where on entering in God's Spirit whispers to thine.
