Are You Ready?

By Janette Bidwell

By JANETTE BIDWELL
O, my heart is daily longing For the hour that's drawing nigh, When my Lord shall come to take me To the fairer world on high.
War and earthquake, plague and famine, Are but tokens which foretell That the hour of Christ's returning Hastes, when we with Him shall dwell.
He is coming, quickly coming, Christ my Lord, my Saviour—all; And I long to join heaven's anthem, Ransomed at His feet to fall.
I have found great joy in walking With the Master here below; But the fellowship of heaven, Full, complete, I long to know.
Are you too, my brother, living For His coming hour by hour? Is your hand in His clasped firmly? Is your life filled with His power?
Sin and sinners will be banished, Righteousness alone have sway. O my brother, let me ask you, Are you ready for that day?
