The Way of Peace

SOME know the way of peace, some do not. Of the latter class the prophet Isaiah said: “Their thoughts are thoughts of iniquity; wasting and destruction are in their paths. The way of peace they know not; and there is no judgment in their goings: they have made them crooked paths: whosoever goeth therein shall not know peace.” Isa. 59:7, 8. Of this same class Paul said, “Destruction and misery are in their ways: and the way of peace have they not known: there is no fear of God before their eyes.” Rom. 3: 16-18.
Our Saviour said to His followers, “My peace I give unto you.” John 14:27. Again: “These things I have spoken unto you, that in Me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.” John 16:33.
The manner of obtaining this peace is emphatically spoken of by the apostle Paul: “Be careful for nothing [do not worry]; but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.” Phil. 4:6, 7. Blessed assurance! Let us each ever grasp, by living faith, this promised peace.
