The Mighty Hand of God in Heathen Lands

A CHINESE priest who accepted the faith recently, handed over to me his credentials which authorized him to minister at heathen altars. He also gave to our band of workers his gods, saying that now that he had exchanged them for Christ, he had no further need of them. A Filipino convert who was unable to read, so longed to read the Bible for himself that he prayed earnestly to God for ability to read His word. He has been able to read since that time, though he has had no teacher. Having met this brother and inquired carefully into the case, I am convinced that the report is correct. The same power that can transform a heathen into a Christian can perform such miracles when it pleases Him to do so. We have opened six new fields in our territory during the past year. Other unentered fields are making most pitiful appeals for workers to bring to their people, who are lying in darkness, the saving light of the gospel.
