New York Leads the World’s Seaports

Among the ten greatest seaports of the world, and the business which is done through these seaports, New York stands at the head, leading London by a little less than $2,000,000. The foreign trade of New York in 1912 was $1,793,690,123, a sum so vast that it is impossible to comprehend it; in London $1,791,857,641. Hamburg fell $100,000,000 behind, and Liverpool $150,000,000. The total tonnage in vessels which entered and cleared in New York was 27,222,903. Antwerp stands next with 26,656,480; London with about 21,000,000.
