IN the market-place of the town of Devizes, in England, there is a tablet which records that near to the spot on which it is fixed, a woman dropped down dead, having just uttered the words, "If I have got the half-crown, may God strike me dead!" and the coin was found firmly fixed in the hand of her corpse.—W.
