The Final Battle

By Flora E. Warren
ON the battle-ground of ages — Like the roll of distant thunder — Can be heard the tread of armies, as they gather for the fray; For the battle of the ages, Where the long, dark night has settled, Soon will end, and bring the dawning of a bright and glorious day!
From the hills and from the valleys, Out of ev’ry tribe and nation; From the highways and the hedges, and the city’s busy street, They are gathering for the battle — Final battle of the ages, Where the hosts of good and evil shall find vict’ry or defeat.
All the world shall be partakers In that struggle of the ages, Which comes stealing swiftly, surely, as a lion for its prey; But the fight will soon be ended — War and death are not eternal; God in heaven watches over, and the Right shall win the day!
