For Good Roads.

When a good draft horse in France can haul in one load 3,306 pounds a distance of 18½ miles, while on the average road in America the same horse could haul only about 800 or 900 pounds, the Agricultural Department of the Government thinks that it is about time for the Government to expend some of its money in experiments on the best kind of country roads, and a bill has been introduced in Congress by Mr. Bankhead for that purpose. It certainly would be well to spend some of the money that is spent for war, in the blessings of peace and prosperity to the country community.
