Open Thy Door and Let Him in

THE Saviour is longing to dwell with thee, From sorrow and darkness to set thee free; Heart so long burdened with pain and sin, Open thy door and let Him in.
Long thou hast wandered in anguish and grief, Seeking and longing for help and relief; Heart so long heavy with darkness within, Open thy door and let Him in.
Kind as the love of a true mother’s breast, Safely He gathers His own to sweet rest; Rouse you, O heart, from the slumber of sin, Open thy door and let Him in.
Soon the night cometh with terror and gloom; Soon will the world meet its long-promised doom; Welcome thy Saviour ere night doth begin, Open thy door and let Him in.
MRS. E. J. S. KEEN.
