Louisiana Sunday Law

A stringent bill providing for enforced Sunday observance is now before the Louisiana Legislature. Under its provisions any corporation, firm, or individual convicted of violating the Sunday law shall forfeit the license to do business for one year. So, if this bill becomes a law, it will be another step in the fulfillment of the prophecy of a time coming when “no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast.” Sunday observance is the mark by which the Papacy claims authority to direct the actions of the people. Rome claims that the recognition of the Sunday institution is an acknowledgment of her authority, and, as she originated the institution, no one can consistently deny her claim. The measure is being supported by clergymen who profess to be Protestants, but in this work they are—no doubt unwittingly—aiding in the restoration of the Papacy to its former universal power. The prophecy of Revelation 13 is to be fulfilled by just such laws in this country.
