San Francisco Graft Prosecution

The graft prosecution in San Francisco is developing very slowly. For weeks, we know not how many, endeavor has been put forth to secure a jury to try Mr. Calhoun, of the United Railroads, but the jury is not secured yet. Recent developments are that the private secretary of Detective Wm. J. Burns, on the side of the prosecution, has been giving away information, and is in the pay of the United Railroads, for which he was receiving $200 a month. The outcome of the matter is still conjectural. Whether Mr. Calhoun is involved in this stealing of evidence is not proved. If bloodshed does not grow out of the trouble it will be a marvelous thing.
