His Going Forth.

“His going forth is prepared as the morning; and He shall come unto us.” Hosea 6:3.
As the dawn of day approaching Overcomes the darker shades, Puts to flight their gloom encroaching On the realm where life pervades, So His Spirit, soft, subduing, Darkest doubts soon puts to flight, As the Daystar, e’er renewing In us life, increasing light.
Then behold the beauteous morning In His glory going forth With his mellow light adorning All God’s works in heaven and earth; So in us is shown His going As His glory bids depart All our errors, and more glowing Is the light that fills the heart.
Soon the sun bursts forth in splendor, Filling all the land with day, And as we to God surrender, All our sins are put away; So His grace and glory fill us, Purify our hearts with light, Sun of Righteousness, prepare us For Thy coming, glorious, bright.
