A Hague Conference on Prohibition

There is a bill before the House of Representatives which provides for a Hague Conference upon universal prohibition. Its prospect is not spoken of flatteringly; and yet in it there is another straw which shows the tendency of movement toward international cooperation on all reform matters. The worst trouble is that many of the things creep in which are anything but reform. World-wide prohibition would be a blessing, but world-wide other things might prove to be an unmitigated curse, and yet some of these world-wide, other things are coming, one of which is a world-wide Sunday law; upon this the prophecy has spoken.
