Russell Sage Extends Bible Society Offer

The American Bible Society wishes to announce to its friends that Mrs. Russell Sage has kindly agreed to extend for one year the time during which subscriptions may be received to make up the half million dollars necessary to meet her offer of another half million for a perpetual endowment for the society. Mrs. Sage’s offer was to give $500,000 if an equal amount could be collected. Certainly the Bible society has been doing an excellent work. Any one who loves the Book will certainly be glad to see its publishers given every encouragement possible.
