Homeward Bound.

By Delvin Rees Buckner.
O, WHAT a joy it is for us to know That Christ our Lord prepares a home above, A home where all is happiness and love, Free from the sorrows on our earth below; A place where Death will lose his power to sting, For where our Lord is, Death will never be. There we shall live through all eternity Secure within the shadow of His wing. Our Saviour has not told us yet the hour; We do not even know the year, nor day, When we shall hear the trumpet’s piercing sound, And all the dead in Christ will rise with power. But this we know: that there is short delay, And that we even now are homeward bound.
