Our Catholic Friends’ Idea of Protestantism.
THE following is from The Western Watchman of Oct. 29, 1908. It will speak for itself: “Protestantism has become such a colorless, amorphous thing, that it is now impossible to differentiate one Protestant sect from another. At the dedication of a Jewish synagog in this city a couple of weeks ago, all the different Protestant churches took part. At the dedication of a Baptist church here last week, there were sermons from ministers of all the Protestant denominations, and the vaudeville performance was so well received that it is to keep up another week. No wonder a thoughtful Protestant paper in Germany should announce a general forward march toward Rome.”
