Earthquakes

Earthquakes.— On February 16, an earthquake occurred in Cevas, Asiatic Turkey, and as the result, thirty persons lost their lives. The town has a population of about 48,000. An earthquake was felt also in Budapest, lasting for ten seconds.

The center of it was in western Persia. Sixty villages were wholly or partially destroyed, and the resultant loss of life was placed at between five and six thousand.
