The California Camp-Meeting.

At this writing the California Camp-meeting at Bushrod Park in this city is well under way. The grounds are delightful. They lie in one oblong plot between Telegraph and Shattuck Avenues, with four rows of large, thrifty eucalyptus trees, whose grateful shadows reach nearly all parts of the ground, and whose fragrant odor fills the air with a deliciously healthful perfume. The soil is adobe, quite smooth and very hard, so that there will be little, if any, dust. Water is piped on the ground, and electric arc lights illuminate it by night. Street-cars run at each end of the ground, but just far enough away as not to be noisy. All told, the place is almost ideal, and the spirit of the meeting is good. We shall have more to report at our next writing.
