GRACE

1. All grace is of God.
“The God of all grace, who hath called us unto His eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you.” 1 Peter 5:10.
2. The grace of God comes to man through Jesus Christ.
“I thank my God always on your behalf, for the grace of God which is given you by Jesus Christ.” 1 Cor. 1:4.
3. This grace is a free gift.
“But not as the offense, so also is the free gift. For if through the offense of one many be dead, much more the grace of God, and the gift by grace, which is by one man, Jesus Christ, hath abounded unto many.” Rom. 5:15.
4. Salvation is by grace, through faith.
“By grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God.” Eph. 2:8.
5. Object lessons of grace.
Noah found grace (Gen. 6:8); Lot found grace (Ch. 19:19); and Israel found grace (Ex. 33:12–17).
6. The sinner is under the law, and the believer is under grace.
“Sin is the transgression of the law” (1 John 3:4); and “The wages of sin is death” (Rom. 6:23).
“Sin [the transgression of the law] shall not have dominion over you [believers]; for ye [believers] are not under the law, but under grace.” Verse 14.
“There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.” Ch. 8:1.
7. The realm of grace is a kingdom.
“Giving thanks unto the Father, . . . who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of His dear Son.” Col. 1:12, 13.
“Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.” Heb. 4:16.
8. Who may be subjects of grace.
“The grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men.” Titus 2:11.
9. Who really profit by the opportunity.
“God resisteth the proud, and giveth grace to the humble.” 1 Peter 5:5.
10. The Admonition.
“Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time; casting all your care upon Him; for He careth for you.” Verses 6, 7.
11. The Assurance.
“Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ; by whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.” Rom. 5:1, 2.
