IS REWARD AT DEATH?

If so, since the body is left behind, then these things are true also:—
  1. The body need never be raised.
  2. There need be no great judgment day.
  3. Nor a great future reward or punishment.
  4. Christ’s first coming was needless to those then dead.
  5. Christ’s second coming is needless to those now dead.
  6. Our bodies must be needless even now.
And this last is just the “claim” of Christian Science. The whole idea of matter anywhere or any time is denied. And the logic is just this: If the world to come is wholly or practically immaterial, then this world that is, is immaterial also. If the soul needs no matter hereafter, neither does it here. In a few changes of thought and theory to come, we shall have Buddhistic re-incarnation in full flower in popular theology.
