Standing for Liberty.

How few are the papers in the United States that stand for religious liberty—freedom of conscience—as compared with a few years ago! Here are two which we will mention: On the east Coast of the country, in New York, is published the Sentinel of Liberty; on the west coast, the SIGNS OF THE TIMES. Both of these papers stand for liberty for the individual, whether he be Jew or Gentile, citizen or foreigner, Catholic or Protestant, white or black, yellow or brown. This is the Golden Rule, and for it we propose to ever stand.
