THE DOCTOR’S ADVICE TOO LATE.

A STORY of a man who went to see a doctor. The doctor examined him carefully, and, with a grave face, told him that he was very ill, and asked him if he had consulted any one else.
“O,” said the man, “I went to see a chemist and asked his advice, and he—”
“Chemist?” the doctor broke in, angrily. “What was the good of that? The best thing to do when a chemist gives you advice is to do exactly the opposite.”
“And he,” the patient continued, “advised me to come to you.”—Cassell’s.
