GOD'S LOVE IS SWEET.

By Benj. Phillips

God's love is sweet, His boundless grace Is given me, and tho the race For fame and wealth has brought me grief, And tho I rove from place to place, With weary heart and tired pace, I still do bide in stern belief.
Yea, I am struggling day by day. And shall not hearken to retreat, Tho pain nigh bears my strength away— God's love is sweet.
I feel His touch from that low breeze Which sings among the vernal trees; And tidings glad it seems to bring, Grim Sorrow's boldness to defeat— Thus free I'll chant while struggling, “God's love is sweet.”
