Coal Strike Arbitration Update

The strike arbitration committee has adjourned, to meet again December 3. In the meantime the strikers' representatives and the representatives of the coal operators are expected to meet practically an agreement among themselves in reference to the basis for future work. If the agreement reached is approved by the arbitration committee, it will be included in their award. At the convention of the Federation of Labor in New Orleans on November 22, Samuel Gompers was unanimously re-elected president, and John Mitchell was unanimously elected second vice-president.
